IMPA versus Cloud Analysis and IDA: Different Methods to Evaluate Structural Seismic Fragility

Well-known methods for seismic performance assessment, such as incremental dynamic analysis (IDA), multi-stripes (MSA) and the cloud method, involve nonlinear response time-history analyses to characterize relationship between chosen damage measure versus intensity measure. Over past two decades, many authors have proposed simplified procedures or static approaches develop fragility. In these procedures, capacity of system is evaluated by (i.e., spectrum method (CSM), N2 modal pushover (MPA)) demand derived spectra. addition familiar ones, (IMPA) a novel procedure in recent years, it used this research present an IM-based fragility estimation. The accuracy effectiveness different assess vulnerability are investigated comparing curves MPA-based analysis, IMPA against IDA. comparison gives valuable insights on influence scaling sets records; however, more extended validation needed confirm obtained results draw general conclusions. Results arise from relatively small bins record motions differing ranges Joyner-Boore distance scattered range magnitude presented.
